ALTC Australian Awards for University Teaching
The Australia Awards for University Teaching is administered by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (http://www.altc.edu.au). The scheme comprises five Award programs recognising teaching excellence and outstanding contributions to student learning:
- Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning
- Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning
- Awards for Teaching Excellence
- Prime Minister's Award for Australian University Teacher of the Year
- Career Achievement Award
The ALTC also provides funding for Award recipients to present at forums and conferences.
The Curtin Excellence and Innovation in Teaching Awards Committee nominates outstanding teachers who have been previously recognised with a Curtin Award to represent Curtin in the Australian Awards for University teaching and provides assistance to nominees to develop their application.

The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) has responsibility for co-ordination of the Australian Awards for University Teaching, including the Awards presentation events. These Awards have been enhanced to heighten the status of teaching and to support the centrality of teaching in institutional missions.
There are five types of awards:
- Citation Awards
- Program that Enhance Learning Awards
- Teaching Excellence Awards
- Prime Minister's Award
- Career Achievement Award
There is also funding for Australian Awards for University Teaching Award winners to present at conferences.
