Q. Who should attend?
A.
The Teaching and Learning Forum is for all academic staff who are interested in pedagogical issues and for all members of the university community who are keen to explore ways to improve the quality of the university experience for students. Casual, sessional and part time staff and postgraduate students are encouraged to attend.

Q. Where is the Forum being held?
A.
The Forum is being held on the Bentley campus of Curtin University of Technology. An interactive Campus Map is available online. Buses run regularly to the campus from downtown Perth and Fremantle, including the Circle Route bus. Up-to-date timetables can be found at the Transperth website.

Q. What are the presentation options?
A.
Presentations can be part of a Workshop or Paper Session. Details can be found on the Presentations page.

Format: Email attachment
Word processor: MS Word
Document name: Use your last name and first initial of your first name, eg. jonesbTLF2008
Margins: 2.5 cms all around
Style: Use 'normal style' only
Font Type: Use Times New Roman only
Include:
  Title of session: 14 point, bold
  Key words: 11 point, 3 words
  Abstract: 11 point, 300 words
  Presenter details: 11 point
  - Name of session presenter/coordinator
  – Position and institution
  – Contact details (address, telephone, fax, e-mail)
  – Other presenter (if relevant)

Page Setup: A4 size, 2.5cm margins all around
Font Type: Use Times New Roman only
Part A - Cover Page: 1 page
Paper title: 14 point, bold, centred, sentence case, followed by 2 blank lines
Author(s) name, department and institution: 12 point, centred, sentence case, principal author first
Contact Details (postal address, telephone & fax number, email address): 12 point, left align, principal author only
Author biography(s): 12 point, left align, ≤75 words
Part B - Full Paper: (new page)
Body text: 12 point, single spaced, left align
Sub-heading 1: 12 point, bold, left aligned, sentence case, 1 blank line preceeding and following; do not number sub-headings
Sub-heading 2: 12 point, italics, left aligned, sentence case, 1 blank line preceeding and following; do not number sub-headings
Long quotes (30+ words): 10 point, 1cm indent left and right
Captions: 12 point, bold, centred, sentence case
Page numbers: insert page numbers at the bottom of the page, right aligned (These will be removed during compilation)
Referencing: Please avoid using footnotes. If unavoidable, make endnotes at the end of the article. Use the APA citation and reference style. List references under the 1st level sub-heading: References.
Include: Title (14 point, bold, centred, sentence case, followed by 2 blank lines), Abstract (10 point, italics, 1cm indent left and right, ≤300 words, followed by 2 blank lines), and Paper (≤5000 including references); Do not include author name(s).

Q. Will papers be reviewed?
A.
The Forum has two streams for submitting a paper: non refereed and refereed. If you wish to submit a paper for refereeing, please make this clear on your abstract.

Q. Will papers be published?
A.
All refereed papers will be published digitally.

Q. What are the registration fee - are all activities included in the fee?
A.

Importance of Abstracts
Abstracts should provide sufficient detail to assist delegates in making their selections.

Please format abstracts and papers according to the guidelines, as they are printed in the Forum booklet for participants.

Please ensure your surname, initial, TLF2008 and your presentation option is in the subject line of the email.
